There are three steps to Investment Cooking.

1. Choose a time to prepare meals ahead. Have the groceries on hand, the recipes set out.
2. Collect grocery sale flyers and coupons during the month. Price watch! Bulk buy whatever is on sale that you can use in your PLANNED meals. Choose recipes based on what the best buys are and what your family enjoys (no use saving (?) money on a dish no one will eat).
3. After cooking, pack it all in the freezer. You'll need to keep an organized freezer - remember FIFO.

Quick & Easy Cool Weather Food

Meat & Potatoes 5 Ways

5 cups of peeled and sliced potatoes

Place slices potatoes in a Vent ‘N Serve - Large Deep* container and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes.

The potatoes form the bottom layer topped by the next layer, your choice of:



Lay meat over potatoes, thicker part to the outside of the container. Spoon the top layer over the meat, being sure to cover all of the meat and potatoes. Cover.

Microwave for 15 to 18 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. Garnish.

Garnish ideas:
Chicken – Salsa down center with sprinkling of cheddar cheese.
Pork chops – French fried onion rings
Eggs – sprinkling of colby or pepper jack cheese.
